I always loved Sony Ericsson phones for not being afraid to test the market with wierd and quirky ideas. Eventually some of these ideas would stick and the quirkiness would be seen as "character" and only assist in developing brand loyalty.

Of late, their products have become a barage of watered down "safe" options to appeal to the masses and in turn they lost the very reason why Sony Ericsson became so successful in the first place.

But things are changing. Their new offerings are fresh and different. Raising eyebrows everywhere, which is what they've always been good at. Trying all the OS's available I feel that they are months away from finding their place again as one of the leaders in cellular thinking.

One of these new, innovative new devices is the Aspen. Its a green device made from enviro friendly materials and uses their flavour of Windows Mobile (Love it or hate it).

I like this device. I don't like windows mobile and I see myself as Blackberry fan, somehow the quirkiness and great mix of QWERTY keyboard, social awareness and the look of their OS makes me want it.

Look out world, here comes Sony...
