Now Nokia are hellbent on sticking with Symbian and building a phone that is similar to the technological leaders (although they are the overall leaders). The reason they have lost "cred" in my eyes is that they have watered down their original passion for great mobile devices. Remember the days of wacky cutting edge touch-screen multimedia devices and circular keypads?
I miss this about Nokia. This is why I was so excited to see that the 6760 is available in South Africa. It's a quirky messaging phone with some serious punch (not the copycat approach that so many manufacturers are adopting [cough] samsung [cough]). It's got all the bits and pieces that people are looking for: Fast internet, a decent camera, accelerometer, facebook integration, document viewer, GPS with OVI maps (a real winner) and photo editor.
It's the kind of gadget that gets me excited about this industry and the fun we can have with how advanced we've become.
So, even though phones like the Samsung Corby (click here to view) or the Nokia 5730 are more "sensible" options, the 6760 would be my choice for it's sheer boldness to be something different... Well done 6760!
Some features: - HSDPA - 3.5mp Camera - Accelerometer (turn-to-mute) - A-GPS with OVI maps (possibly the best application) - QWERTY keyboard - Quick Office - PDF Reader - Photo Editor
